Technology Application Network Limited (TANet) is a limited company – not for profit – and is an association of organizations whose members share the aims of innovation through research and collaboration and transfer of new technology into industry.
TANet is a network organisation providing services for business improvement into industry. It occupies space in the Waterton Technology Centre, adjacent to the Ford Motor Company engine plant. The centre also incorporates a number of meeting rooms and lecturing facilities available to support local Industry. Waterton houses several influential organisations such as the Welsh Automotive and Aerospace forums. These forums have membership of some 450 members. Service to these clients range from the provision of web portals, order exchange utilising semantic alignment across organisations, opportunity matching with capabilities and collaborative consortia definition, with connections to cloud like information sources fed by one of the members of TANet, namely Control 2K. C2K’s INDUSTREWEB suite of software for business services. C2K, as part of TANet, has been involved with a number of European Projects including COSPACES, STASIS, SYNERGY and ADVENTURE. C2K is currently involved with FLEXINET, in the factories of the future domain.
One of the strengths of TANet is its associations with EU organisations such as EFFRA and its involvements with cluster activities in the commission. With its links to all the manufacturing organisations in Europe, TANet is well placed to understand the needs of the manufacturing sector and to put together clear dissemination policies and look at where to target the outputs of most European projects. It has worked with manufacturing companies large and small and understands business needs.
