CREMA paper accepted for SOSE 2018
The paper "VTDL: A Notation for Data Stream Processing Applications" has been accepted at the 12th IEEE International Symposium on Service-Oriented System Engineering (SOSE 2018) that will take place in Bamberg, Germany.
Publication in Elsevier Information Systems Journal
An article on event-based failure prediction in distributed business processes, stemming from research performed within the CREMA project, has been accepted for publication at the top-tier Elsevier Information Systems Journal.
CREMA Project Ending
The CREMA project is ending with most of the deliverables (88/91) being sent to the EC in time. The late ones being a workshop report from a workshop in mid November and two management reports that can only be sent when all the numbers are known.
CREMA 2nd Workshop Presentations and Videos available

CREMA Papers published on Data Storage in the Cloud
Two new CREMA related publications have been made relating to Data Storage in the Cloud, the first published in the journal Service Oriented Computing and Applications presented at the 10th IEEE International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing and Applications (SOCA 2017).
Virtual Factory within CREMA
As part of the mini competition to developers TANet (Control 2K) were tasked with developing a Virtual Factory environment for the CREMA platform. This supports the CPS objectives of the project and also helps to show case the outcomes of the CREMA components.

The paper "Cost-efficient enactment of stream processing topologies" has been accepted for publication by the PeerJ Computer Science journal.

FAGOR ARRASATE – CREMA´s final sprint
In June 2017, the Project started the last 6 months of the three years duration after the development of 2 years and a half. The Project is centralized in the Industry 4.0 tendency where Fagor Arrasate has compromised with the objective to design and develop a platform in the cloud that will allow a better efficiency of the maintenance process and machine manufacturing by using the “Cloud Manufacturing” concept.

CREMA Second year review, Brussels
The 21st of February took place the second year review of CREMA at the European Commission. A project overview was presented followed by the impact and business plan. Then the hard work of the partners was displayed with the demonstrations of most of the components, first with a general presentation and then with the use cases.

CREMA Paper presented at the 8th International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Ontology Development (KEOD)
In the paper “CDM-Core: A Manfuacturing Domain Ontology in OWL2 for Production and Maintenance",
the authors from DFKI present the largest publicly available manufacturing ontology CDM-Core in the
standard formal ontology language OWL2. The CDM-Core ontology covers the CREMA use case domains
of metal press maintenance and automative exhaust production, and makes use of many relevant
standard vocabularies and ontologies, with only about one fifth of its size being CREMA use case specific.
Ubisense Smart Factory installation for the Automotive Use Case

At the end of June, Christoph Hochreiner has presented the research paper "Elastic Stream Processing for the Internet of Things" to an interested international audience at the 9th edition of the IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing. The presentation initiated fruitful discussions and may trigger future research collaborations with international research institutions, especially regarding the usage of Cloud resources to process (industrial) IoT data.

CREMA at Hannover Industry Fair 2016

Partners meet in Regensburg Germany for Plenary Meeting
The CREMA project partners meet again this time in Regensburg Germany hosted by Ubisense. The meeting will check the status of the deliverables due by the end of the year and also plan for the review early next year. In addition a trip to the BMW assembly plant to see the Ubisense Smart Factory product in action.

Cowbridge, South Wales CREMA Plenary Meeting

Antzuola Plenary Meeting a success!
From 29 June to 1 July, one of the plenary meetings for the CREMA’s European Project has been taken place at the Goizper office in Antzuola. These plenary meetings of the companies and technology centres participating in the European CREMA project are held every six months.

Project partners meet again in Spain with this time Goizper playing host. With a tour of the Goizper production facility on the agenda, the rest of the meeting will focus on the specific detail of the platform architecture and the application of it to the end users needs.

Full Speed Ahead!
This January, a new Horizon 2020 project was launched to simplify the establishment, management, adaptation, and monitoring of dynamic, cross-organisational manufacturing processes following Cloud manufacturing principles in Europe.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No [637066].
