How CREMA tries to save workers‘ time

CREMA aims not only to optimize Manufacturing processes with regard to the workflow, but also with the aim of easing the work and saving workers’ time. In that respect, CREMA tries to simplify the collaboration between workers and assets or workers and workers by providing a mobile digital companion in form of an application running on a mobile device called “Personal Collaboration Environment” or PCE.

The PCE is realised as an Android application running on a mobile device (such as tablets) and providing following powerful features:

  •          Based on the features of the Ubisense SmartFactory, a digital interactive map of the manufacturing area could be shown inside the application. This map allows workers to get a holistic overview about the whole manufacture and its modelled objects (Tools, Assets, Workers or Products).
  •          Each Asset/Tool in a CREMA-powered manufacture is modelled as a service (in terms of XaaS). Thus, getting information about a certain object within this manufacture using the PCE is easier than ever: users could request the existing objects (Assets, Tools, Products, etc.) in a specific location and then view all related documentation files (manuals, sheets) in a digital form directly on their mobile devices without need to open overloaded books.
  •          In case of unexpected failures or problems, the users of the PCE could quickly request help (i.e. from the technical staff). The PCE provides multiple communication ways to enhance the collaboration either via telephone call, via Email or even using a more performant and efficient way: a video call.
  •          Another aspect to save time and to be more productive is the use of the integrated ticketing system, short TIKKI: within this system each production asset is modelled through a ticket queue. This queue saves all frequently occurred problems and their proposed solutions. Thus, this system builds a 1st level support channel used as a reference before contacting the technical staff.
  •          The PCE comes also with an own notification interface based on the Android push mechanism. each component implementing this interface could send notifications to specific users at run time. A notification could be: a workflow instruction, a simple information or even a warning of possible failure or error.    

All in all, the PCE provides a fully integrated mobile dashboard offering multiple means to enhance the collaboration from human worker to human worker or to machinery production assets/tools and thus saving a lot of time which can be invested to achieve more productivity.
