Research accepted for IEEE International Enterprise Distributed Object Computing Conference

Research accepted for IEEE International Enterprise Distributed Object Computing Conference

CREMA research has been accepted for presentation at the IEEE International Enterprise Distributed Object Computing Conference 2016 and the Annual Meeting of the German Gesellschaft für Informatik.

 

Research conducted by TU Wien within CREMA has led to the acceptance of two publications.

The first publication "VISP: An Ecosystem for Elastic Data Stream Processing for the Internet of Things" will be presented at the 20th IEEE International Enterprise Distributed Object Computing Conference. The authors propose the VISP ecosystem, which provides a holistic approach to tackle current challenges for the Internet of Things, like the volatile communication rates among manufacturing machines throughout the course of the day.

 

The second publication "Bridging Gaps in Cloud Manufacturing with 3D Printing" will be presented at the 46th edition of the Annual Meeting of the German Gesellschaft für Informatik. This paper picks up the service selection and logistic challenges which emerge within CREMA if one manufacturing service fails. The authors propose the inclusion of an additive manufacturing approach, which provides a promising solution to gap production outtakes on a short notice.
