In the paper “Resource Provisioning for IoT Services in the Fog, the authors from TU Wien and the University of Zurich present the current research results in the field of service enactment in distributed environments. The authors proposed a framework architecture and a resource provisioning approach to deal with heterogeneity, delay-sensitivity, and location awareness of Internet of Things (IoT) devices by means of fog computing.
In the paper “Cost-Efficient Data Redundancy in the Cloud”, the authors present the research results in the field of redundant storage of data on cloud storages in a cost-efficient way. The paper presents a middleware that dynamically optimizes the data placement on all available cloud storages to guarantee cost-efficiency and the compliance of predefined Quality of Service parameters at all time.
